Hall Facilities

Having been in receipt of grant funding we have been able to refurbish our delightful village hall, bringing it into the 21st Century with full, modern amenities. Village halls are important, as relevant as ever, and make a real difference to the community, giving everyone the opportunity to celebrate events within walking distance of their homes in the heart of our rural community.

The Main Hall has a wooden beech parquet floor with carpet surround. The stage is in the Main Hall. Patio doors give access to the garden and there are two Fire Exits. The modern lighting system is ideal for all events including dances, meetings, parties. The curtained stage has a professional stage lighting system. We have a full cinema projection with surround sound amplification used for regular Film at the Hall events which include Live Streaming of sporting and other events. Groups may use this system for illustrated talks, zoom meetings and live broadcasting. The Main Hall has an adjacent fully stocked bar room which can augment the Main Hall hire.

The fully equipped Kitchen has an induction hob, four ovens, fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. There is a constant boiling water system in addition to kettles and the cutlery and crockery is sufficient for a party of one hundred.

The Meeting Room has a carpeted floor and patio doors out to the garden with its own separate back entrance access, toilet facility and kitchenette equipped for twenty. This room, accessible from the carpark has its own separate entrance and full facilities, including Wi-Fi. There is a screen and projector for smaller group talks or Zoom meetings and is ideal as a workspace.

The Bar, which takes contactless payment and cash, has doors and a servery to the Orangery, which leads into the garden. The bar has a good range of wines and spirits, guest real ales and draught cider.

The Landscaped Garden has pleasing views for summer events with a large area of lawn, a substantial patio and a wildlife area with seating and flowerbeds of bright summer flowers. Access to the garden can be direct from the carpark or from the Main Hall. There is complementary lighting in the garden for evening use and the Orangery has its own lighting system.

The St. Tudy Village Hall is a registered charity (charity number 1187961).

Trustees are the ‘guardians of purpose,’ making sure that all decisions put the needs of the hall and its hirers first.

They safeguard the charity’s assets – both physical assets, including property, and intangible ones, such as its reputation. They make sure these are used well and that the charity is run sustainably.

Our team of volunteer Trustees give their commitment and time to the responsibility of their duties, using their energy, skills, and experience to keep the Hall in best condition.

Trustees of the past have overseen extensive fundraising and building projects and the current team have recently completed an extensive refurbishment of the Hall and garden.
